Fashion designer Dennis Basso's pool house is the perfect place to host an afternoon lunch, an evening soiree or kick back after a swim. I've had these images saved for quite some time and often come back to the blue and white scheme. The all white space works really well, but the tablescape is what really gets me. I can't get enough of the mix of purple and green hydrangeas. It's such a nice pop against all the blue and white — love it!

Although Bonnaroo and Coachella are behind us, I really think the Brits get it right when it comes to street style always look forward to the pics from Glastonbury (taking place this weekend). Music festivals are usually either hot or tainy, so easy layers and wellies are a must — I think this metallic pair will help conceal some of the mud you'll inevitably be wearing. And if the festival scene isn't your thing, you can always enjoy a Woodstock DVD from the comforts of home :)

As you all know, Etsy is one of my favorite stops for finding unique vintage finds. I love creating tablescapes and Georges Briard glasses are so unusual with their vibrant patterns — there aren't too many glassware options like them available today. Etsy is a treasure trove not only for his glassware, but also ice buckets, and trays. Happy hunting!

Helen Frankenthaler is one of my favorite American abstract expressionist painters. She is perhaps best known for her highly intuitive process, known as "stain painting." I've long admired her work and was pleased to recently discover these paintings at Leslie Sacks Fine Art. Although the paintings are abstract, a strong suggestion of landscape is often apparent, and they have also been praised for their lyrical qualities that almost seem to float on air.

One color that seems to match everything in my wardrobe is turquoise. I love turq for its lovely hue and also for its versatility. Turquoise looks great with so many different colors: red, navy, orange, color, and hot pink to name a few. Perfect for the summer with white and a tan, you really can't go wrong!

All Items from Quadrille 1 Magenta/Lime Kazak Tunic on Cotton Voile, $325.00 2 Aquarius Short, $180.00 3 Magenta/Blue New Batik Tunic on Linen, $480.00 4 Green Melinda Tote, $175.00 5 Aquarius Blue Bermuda Short, $225.00 6 Brown Nairobi Small Tote Bag, $175.00 7 Green New Batik Dress on Linen, $480.00 8 Periwinkle Edo Grande Tunic on Cotton Voile, $325.00 9 Navy Kazak Tunic on Cotton Voile, $325.00 10 Antibes Blue Short, $180.00

Quadrille is hands-down my favorite resource for fabric — they have a huge library of colorful prints that is both timeless and fresh. I was delighted to receive an email this week announcing a Quadrille shop at Taigan. While Quadrille has been selling a couture line on their website for some time, this new shop offers tunics, shorts, and totes in their signature patterns. I think it's safe to say I would be happy owning any of these pieces, especially the tunic at top right (hot pink, I die...) and the Nairobi tote (channeling a safari trip...). Do you have a favorite?

I love a good straw hat — as an accessory, and a necessity to shield the sun — and Kate Spade's hello sunshine straw hat is perfect for both, and has just the right amount of whimsy. In the same line is an adorable straw tote I can just picture swinging from my arm — I especially love the way hello sunshine is woven into the side. To sunny days ahead!

With Father's Day less than a week away it's time to get cracking on the gift buying and show Dad how much you appreciate him. My Dad is handy around the house and would love the classic Klein tool bag to store his tools in. It's so handsome I might have to get one for myself — wouldn't it make a great weekend bag?

1 Oilcloth Cooler, Mary Jane Bags, $26.00 2 Lewis and Clark Road Trips by Kira Gale, Amazon, $23.96 3 The Backyard Binocular Bag, Madewell, $132.00 4 Where I want To Be Graphic Tee, Madewell, $78.00 5 Levi's Boyfriend Denim Shorts, Kohl's, $19.99 6 East vs West Tote, Velocity, $20.00 7 52 Fun Things to Do in the Car, Amazon, from $0.39 8 Super Sunglasses Blonde Havana, Madewell, $161.00 9 NPR Road Trips: Family Vacations, NPR Shop, $14.95 10 Knife, Fork, and Spoon Set, Bambu, $8.50 11 Vintage Red Vinyl Suitcase, American Apparel, $55.00

Taking a road trip is one of those great all-American vacations that you need to do every so often. Comfort is first and foremost when you're spending long hours in the car and I was delighted to find this tee at Madewell. NYC-based photographer Dylan Forsberg captured his cross-country trek on camera and then turned the beautiful snapshots into this fun line of tees. Just looking at them makes me want to jump in the car!

1 Hat Attack Mini Cowboy Straw Hat, My Theresa, $65.00 2 Mosaic Mountain Buckle, Rodeo, $375.00 3 Aztec Straw Clutch, Lord & Taylor, $78.00 4 House of Harlow 1960 Aztec Bangles, Singer 22, $75.00 each 5 Navajo Woven Scarf, Forever 21, $6.50 6 Jonathan Adler 'Utopia' Reversible Bud Vase, Nordstrom, $48.00 7 White Giraffe Neck Purse, Topshop, $20.00 8 International Silver Pueblo Flatware Set, Mikasa, 20 Piece set $29.99 9 Sumba Tea Towel, Hammocks & High Tea, $24.00 10 Kemo Sabe Distressed Olathe Boots, Kemo Sabe, $575.00 11 Lithograph by John L. Doyle, Michael H. Lord Gallery, $750.00

Having grown up on the east coast, traveling to the west is always an adventure. I love the laid-back spirit of the west and, of course, the scenery and wide open spaces are unmatched. Cowboy boots are my favorite piece of western wear — you can't beat a pair of worn-in boots. Kemo Sabe in Aspen is the best place to get a custom pair, although they do have lots of great off-the-shelf options. I've been dreaming of making a pair for years — aren't they so fun?!?

1 Shell Salt & Pepper Set, Vivre, $15.00 2 Moroccan Market Basket, Cerulean, $42.00 3 Ansley Clutch, Furbish Studio, $140.00 4 Brass Bar Hot Pink Bracelet, Brass Bar Coral Bracelet, Devora Libin Jewels, $80.00 each 5 Tuleste Market Coral Circle Pendant, Charm & Chain, $170.00 6 White Gypsy Tassel Blouse, Topshop, $66.00 7 Brown Leopard Triangle Bikini, Topshop, $55.00 8 Russian Embroidered Belt, Cerulean, $35.75 9 Carousel Lantern, Furbish Studio, $670.00 10 Metallic Gold Zebra Jar, Furbish Studio, $15.00 11 L'Objet Kyoto Rectangular Platter, Vivre, $187.00

To me the appeal of an exotic destination is the introduction to a new location far — in terms of effect and appearance — from everyday life. Traveling is always a great time for shopping and exotic locales are known for their bazaars — Marrakesh, anyone? I try to steer clear of touristy tchotchkes and instead buy things I actually use, like jewelry, clothing, shoes, and handbags. It's always fun to have a reminder of my trip when I'm wearing them :)

p.s. Care to see my dream home? I scanned my files, books, and the web for Paloma's "Dream Home" series on La Dolce Vita. It was so fun, but also so difficult to choose! Check it out here — can't wait to hear what you think!

1 Sunglass Hat, Calypso St. Barth, $95.00 2 Isis Plate Set by French Bull, Calypso St. Barth, $55.00 3 Gold Half Frame Aviators, Topshop, $24.00 4 Cozumel Tote, J. Whether trekking near or far, one thing's for sure, no summer is complete without a trip to the beach. Living in Atlanta we often visit St. Simons or Florida, but for a more exotic locale India and Greece top my travel list. I'm never without a lightweight sarong like this one from Calypso, which also doubles as a towel — it comes in so many fun colors, it's hard to choose just one. Surf's up!

Ready, set, jet set! Whether traveling with the family to the beach or jaunting overseas, proper luggage and carry-on essentials are a must. I've been eying the Editor Series from Steamline Luggage. Rolling suitcases are usually not my idea of chic, but I can't resist the vintage appeal and pink leather straps. Happy travels!
