I recently discovered the photographs of Leroy Grannis and I've been dreaming of the Pacific Coast Highway ever since. Grannis was a surf photographer in the 1960s and 70s and his work really captures the essence of the California surf scene. Doesn't it make you want to jump on a surfboard?!?

I always love perusing the Condé Nast Store for graphic inspiration — the covers and artwork are an endless source. As a Vogue enthusiast and lover of graphics, vintage Vogue covers are right up my alley. I have a collection in my bedroom from the late 1920s — one of my favorite time periods — that brightens up the rooms with its bold and colorful graphics.

The new book Maxim's, Mirror of Parisian Life follows the mythic Parisian restaurant and hot spot from its 3 rue Royale locale in 1893 to the Art Nouveau masterpiece it is today. Owned and operated for the past twenty-five years by iconic designer Pierre Cardin, the tome is penned by the designer's longtime collaborator Jean-Pascal Hesse. Maxim's has hosted patrons from royalty and celebrities to courtesans and starvings artists and has also been featured in film including "Gigi" and Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris." Also included: recipes for the famed Quail Confit, Fruit Charlotte, and more.

I just love the vibrant work of Sally King Benedict. She's an abstract artist from Atlanta that currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina and her paintings are just divine. One of my favorites is this one titled Aerial View. The color combination is spot on...and perfect for injecting some color into your home!

Robert Redford, Meryl Streep, and the wilds of Kenya....it doesn't get much better than Out of Africa, one of my all-time favorite films. Short of planning a safari or trip to Nairobi, you can channel Karen's look through camp chairs and handmade baskets like these woven by Senegalese women. They're available in many colors and sizes and would be so fun in a nursery or children's room!

ONE TO WATCH: MIROSLAVA DUMA

I first spotted Miroslava Duma, or Mira as she's known to her friends, on the Sartorialist back in 2008. I learned she was an editor for Harper's Bazaar Russia (she's since moved on and is now freelancing) and I've kept an eye out for her street style shots ever since. I'm a sucker for her eclectic style and petite figure (us little chicks have to stick together) but Mira does have impressive style and an allure all her own, especially considering she's only 26.

White and gold is a favorite color combination in the summer and always looks great against a tan. To mix things up I like to throw in pops of tortoise and orange, like this Kenneth Jay Lane gold tortoise link bracelet with a shell button rope necklace. Black and white stripes are one of those great combinations that never gets old, never goes out of style, and is always chic. The striped bathroom in the J. Crew Women's Collection store on the Upper East Side is one of my favorite striped spaces. The bold stripes fit the small space perfectly and I just love the way the molding accentuates them...so chic!
