Tory Burch boutiques are well known for their home-inspired interiors. Although I haven't visited it personally, the Seoul boutique is a favorite mostly because of its large size — there's an entire apartment above the shopping floor! All of the boutiques are designed by Daniel Romualdez — who also designed Tory's chic Pierre apartment — and have all of Tory's signatures: loads of lacquer, x-benches, floral arrangements, a mixtures of textures (in this case, driftwood and quartz), and lots of gold and orange. Now if only I had details on the release of her home décor line....we'll just have to cross our fingers and wait on that one!

I was so excited to recently discover the work of Kate Lewis. Her colorful paintings of room interiors and floral arrangements are right up my alley — I just love their bright, layered look. Kate draws inspiration from rehabbing and decorating her Victorian home and also from reading blogs and magazines. And some of you might recognize the image on the top middle — that's right, it's the living room in Nate Berkus' apartment!

Kate's work is available through her website and select paintings are available through UGallery.

What better way to celebrate the end of summer than with a laid-back Labor Day party! Keep it casual with Mason Jar glasses and melamine plates. And an easy menu (including a yummy, make-ahead cobbler) equals minimal laboring. Enjoy the holiday weekend!

I am obsessed — obsessed — with this glam collection of finials, The Finial Touch by Hillary Thomas Designs. "Think of finials as jewelry for your lamps," says Hillary and when they look this good who wouldn't want a sparkly little gem shining from above their favorite lamp? I sure do!

Rock n' Rolla Collection, Chic Shop by Hillary Thomas Designs, $45.00 - $75.00

If you like the looks of these pictures and have $5.5 million, this house could be yours! The Spade's have listed their Southampton home, known as "Stepping Stones," which once served as a boardinghouse for the William Merrit Chase's Shinnecock Hills Summer School of Art. The property features English gardens and multiple buildings, including a rare freestanding ballroom — can you imagine the entertaining possibilities! Watch an Andy-led video tour of the house here.

If I wasn't convinced yesterday that Grant and I were new BFFs, after composing his short list I certainly am. Not only do we share a favorite creamery in SF (and the same flavor, no less!), but a love of Suzanne Goin, weekend trips to the farmers market and cheese shop, and cooking at home. And who doesn't admire someone that adheres to a daily uniform — Grant's classic black and white look is definitely one worth sticking to. Thanks so much Grant for sharing your must-haves and essentials!

I'm so excited to welcome Grant K. Gibson in our latest Must-Haves series. It's hard to open up a magazine these days without seeing a new project from Grant. He founded Grant K. Gibson Interior Design in 2002 and has since been named a "Designer to Watch" by both Domino and Elle Décor. Grant is known for his well-edited classic spaces that are not only beautiful, but functional as well. Grant also chronicles his travels and projects on his blog, which is definitely a must-read. Stay tuned tomorrow for a short list of Grant's essentials!

Searching for fabrics is a favorite pastime and while my love for finer fabrics like Lee Jofa and Manuel Canovas remains strong, sometimes the project budget is not on par with their prices. Enter, Joann, and Calico Corners. Sure, the selection isn't quite the same, but you cannot beat these prices — especially when you need major yardage.

p.s. FYI — some of these fabrics are quilting fabrics and have a lighter weight than traditional cottons and linens typically used in home decor. If used for an application like curtains, simply line the fabric.

p.p.s. Find more of my favorite fabrics in my Pinterest folder and follow me as I scour the web for more steals — I'm constantly adding more!

1 Deborah Rhodes Braided Coaster Set, Barneys New York, $32.00 2 Pink Moroccan Tea Glasses, Furbish Studio, set of 4 $32.00 3 Mirror Jar Base, Anthropologie, $298.00 4 Horn Candlesticks, Apartment 48, $125.00 5 DL Rhein Sclaes Citron Embroidered Pillow, Layla Grace, $70.00 6 Smythson Camera Case, Barneys New York, $160.00 7 Green Glass Decanter, Plantation, $125.00 8 Concord Vase Set, Plantation, set of 3 (not shown: Purple and Yellow) $50.00 9 Conch Shell, Chic Shop, $25.00

Laura Gurton's painting is the perfect inspiration to create a color scheme around. The mix of tan, gold, green, and pink hues work wonderfully, don't you think? And I love the way the hot pink is worked in — ever so
subtle :)

I'm a longtime Genevieve Jones fan and was excited to stumble upon these images on French Vogue's website. Known for her eclectic style, I'm always excited to see her latest ensembles, like the leopard and polka dot above. Genius! Jones has channeled all that style into a jewelry and accessories line — view it here.

Sometimes all it takes is a few fun pillows to freshen up a space. I like to think beyond the sofa and often place smaller size square, rectangular, and bolster pillows on side chairs, dining chairs, and task chairs. And of course mix and match patterns and colors to create a look that's truly your own :)

At long last, Target has released images of their highly anticipated Missoni collaboration and they are chic, chic, chic. If they didn't have you at Missoni, then take a look at the Men's scarves, the towels, that blanket, those black pumps, and even a bicycle!! And of course everything looks fab placed in the superchic apartment of Margherita Missoni. Mark your calendars for September 13 — it's gonna be good :)

Although I love bright colors and bold patterns, it's always great to offset with a neutral solid. After a season of whites I'm always ready for classic navy. Navy stripes, navy polka works well in any season, but particularly lends itself to summer blues and as a transition to fall and winter hues. And I'm counting down the days to fall when I can wear my favorite navy schoolboy blazer :)

Any fellow scarf collectors out there? You won't want to miss Scarves, the marvelous new compendium showcasing over 250 examples from the likes of Paul Poiret, Elsa Schiaparelli, Yves Saint Laurent, Sandra Rhodes, and many more. Also included: biographies of designers and a useful resource guide with helpful advice on collecting.

I recently discovered O'verlays and just about jumped out of my chair with excitement. Inexpensive custom panels that fit IKEA furniture? Done and done. The idea was born after owner Danika custom fit vintage fretwork panels to a client's IKEA Pax wardrobe. She immediately saw the potential in the panels, and together with friend Cheryle, they decided to create their own. While O'verlays is compatible with many popular IKEA pieces, they're available in custom sizes and could be used on any vintage furniture and even on mirror, doors, walls, and windows. And when it comes to painting, the possibilities are endless!

1 Black Zebra Rug, Pieces, $995.00 2 Zebra Ceramic Umbrella Holder, Clayton Gray Home, $110.00 3 Zebra Framed Mirror, Sydelle & Jay Livingston, $975.00 4 Enamel Zebra Cuff by Kenneth Jay Lane, Charm & Chain, $125.00 5 Proposal, Rebecca Minkoff, $295.00 6 Zebra Coasters, Jonathan Adler, $48.00 7 I Married Adventure by Osa Johnson Vintage Copy, Nostalgic Nuance, $65.00 8 Felix Rey Clear Bubble Zebra Umbrella, Bloomingdale's, $65.00 9 Liza's Zebra Print Bangle, Fantasy Jewelry Box, $18.95 10 Cobble Hill Zebra Stacy, Kate Spade, $72.00 11 Cobble Hill Zebra Medium Katie, Kate Spade, $212.00 12 Zebra Ceramic Stool, Clayton Gray Home, $290.00 13 Zebra Hide and Polished Nickel Bench, Clayton Gray Home, $1195.00

As far as the animal kingdom's concerned, the leopard and its spots usually get all the attention. But the zebra's stripes have an allure all their own. I love zebra for a splash of black and white or as a major statement maker as is the case in Elizabeth Bauer's bedroom with its boldly wallpapered walls and ceiling. Zebra wallpaper plus D. Porthault linens? Chic, chic, chic.

So many great new books have come out this summer, but one that particularly caught my eye is artist Ross Bleckner's My Life in the New York Times. Bleckner, a longtime reader of the Times, orchestrated decades' worth of clippings from his archive in a beautifully printed "homage to print media" (as he described on The Martha Stewart Show). The book is a collage of advice, wisdom and comment and would make an excellent gift or be a welcome addition to any bookshelf or nightstand.
