Before we head into 2012, I thought it would be fun to recap some of 2011's memorable moments and trends. One of the highlights of the year for me was definitely the royal wedding. I don't think I'll ever forget the moment Kate Middleton stepped out of the car and Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen was confirmed. Looking forward to 2012, the color predictions are tangerine hues and I can certainly get excited about that!

One More Time - Daft Punk, I Love the Nightlife - Alicia Bridges, Get Down On It - Kool and the Gang, Got To Be Real - Cheryl Lynn, Music Inferno - Madonna, Call on Me - Eric Prydz, Super Bass - Nicki Minaj, Workin' Day and Night - Michael Jackson, You Make Me Feel Mighty Real - Sylvester, Just Can't Get Enough - Depeche Mode, 2012 - Jay Sean

Whether hosting a soiree or opting to stay in for the evening, having a playlist at the ready is a must. I've compiled some of my favorite tunes to get you in the mood for the big ball drop...enjoy!

I'm not going to lie....last year I penciled in the majority of my appointments into my Google calendar despite the fact that I had purchased the chicest of Graphic Image's lineup....a shiny gold datebook. Not quite ready to give up yet, I have decided this year to purchase their crocodile version. Let's give this another try, shall we!

Just like gift-giving, a thank you card should be tailored to the recipient (bonus points if it relates to the gift received). Two of my current favorites are Rifle Paper Co.'s Merci cards and kate spade's Thanks a Million notes. Both are bright and upbeat, which sends a nice message when giving thanks :)

As you've probably figured out by now (being the faithful KM reader that you are ), I'm an accessories girl at heart. Not to say that my closet is lacking cocktail attire or even cardigans for that matter, but when it comes to sartorial spending I often fly straight pass the clothing racks. What can I say? I'm a baubles and belts kind of girl and don't even get me started on my shoes! I like to think of accessories as the finishing touch and feel that the right accessory can really make an outfit. Take for example these Loeffler Randall pumps. The baby cheetah print makes these stand out from the pack and is definitely an outfit-maker.

1 Hudson Wine & Champagne Bowl, Z Gallerie, $69.95 2 Garbo Earrings, Dannijo, $260.00 3 Pauletta Embellished Dress, DVF, $535.00 sale 4 Peep-toe with Flower, ZARA, $89.90 5 Bobbi Brown Party Shimmer Brick, Sephora, $40.00 6 Tinsel Link Garland, Jayson Home, $22.00 7 Anya Hindmarch Valorie Glitter Clutch, Net-a-Porter, $550.00 8 Helene Berman Faux Fur Gilet, The Outnet, $195.00 9 Gold Pinata, Confetti System, $140.00 10 Party Horns, Tops Malibu, $12.00 11 New Years Tiara, Party Supplies Delivered, $1.75 12 Gold Pom Pom Flower, Kate's Paperie, $5.00

Ladies (and gents), our time to shine is here....all hail the New Year's Eve party! Certainly one of the most festive events in my calendar and one where sequined dresses and clutches will be pulled forth from the closet and put to good use. If you haven't ordered the necessary party essentials I recommend doing so now. One doesn't want to be without feathered tiara come ball drop!

Paper | Bows & Ribbons, Kate's Paperie, $5.00 | Gold Glitter Wrapping Paper, Paper Source, $3.95 - $9.95 | Candy Canes Wrapping Paper, Paper Source, $2.50 - $7.95 | Ribbon | Silver Tinsel Ribbon, Paper Source, $9.95 | Baker's Twine, Paper Source, $7.95 | Gold Paper Ribbon, Paper Source, $2.95 | Adornments | Pinecone Tie-on, The Container Store, $3.49 | Unikko Black and White Gift Tags, Crate and Barrel, $2.96 | Felt Elephant Ornament, Apartment 48, $18.00

You already know I get pretty excited when it comes to selecting gits for friends and loved ones, so I'm sure you can only imagine the thought that goes into wrapping them. I typically stick to a theme each year — either colorful or metallic — and find this helps coordinate everything. Beside the usual gift tag, I often like to attach a special ornament or something related to the gift inside. This is something I do year-round and is a fun way to make the wrapping extra special and include something useful.

1 TWG Chamomile Teabags, Dean & Deluca, $19.50 2 The Holiday, Amazon, $6.49 3 Fisherman Cable Hat, J. If you're anything like me, when watching The Holiday you place all focus on the blossoming romance of Graham (Jude Law) and Amanda (Cameron Diaz) set in the idyllic village of Surrey, England. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Kate Winslet fan, but between Graham's adorable daughter's and Iris's enchanting cottage, it's pretty hard to compete with the English scenes. Amanda wears a lot of white throughout the movie and I can definitely picture her in this fur-collar coat paired with these sparkly peach earrings from our new fave BaubleBar. I've been so busy this year I haven't had a chance to watch this yet...I think I'll pack it and bring it along on my holiday travels :)

Whether you're traveling to grandmother's or somewhere exotic, Christmas is just over a week away and it's time to get your packing necessities in order. For those partaking in air travel, a pair of CitySlips is a must. Another on-flight essential: Stephanie Johnson's coral pencil case (perfect for corralling loose items in your carry-on). I often use clear bags and love this pattern. And for those of you spending the holidays at home, I just discovered a new addition to the C. Wonder site...leopard slippers! I would wear them while watching my favorite movie....and sipping eggnog. Cheers!

Nothing brings out my true prep quite like a good tartan and the best time to wear it is always around the holidays. I'm loving this double-breasted jacket from Juicy Couture. I would wear it with my favorite black skinnies everywhere from running errands to a holiday dinner. For the anglophile in your life (there's a few in mine) there's Tartan by Brian Wilton packed with pictures sure to inspire!

I've been obsessing recently over Baublebar — a sort of one-stop shop for jewelry of all varieties. Baublebar sources directly from designers to keep their prices low and also updates inventory twice a week on Mondays and Wednesday....nice, right? I've included my favorite pieces here, but there are many, many more. I suggest checking them out for all your holiday festivities and upcoming NYE parties. Oh and I must mention, $10 off your first order if you're a first time customer!

Buying a gift for the person who has everything isn't just about spending top dollar. More than ever, it's the thought that counts and thinking outside the box is especially difficult. I mean, this person has everything. Think limited edition artwork like the latest from 20x200 fave Christian Chaize. Or perhaps a delightful box of milk chocolate truffles from Charbonnel et Walker which comes in a box so lovely it doubles as a keepsake.

The decorator gift guide is obviously among my favorites to compose. Not only does it serve as the backbone to my real Christmas wish list, but it's fun to recap all of my favorite products at the moment. As you might have noticed, my guide (wish list??) is very heavy on accessories. I think most decorators are happy to receive new trays such as this fab leopard tray from Furbish or this malachite one from my friends at Chic Shop. I know I can never have too many!

Wonder it's a combination of home décor, accessories, and apparel all wrapped up their lacquered, colorful branding. Backed by Chris Burch, Tory Burch's ex-husband and current co-chair of her label, the store is already rapidly growing with a flagship in Soho and two smaller store in New York and New Jersey. When are they coming to Atlanta is all I want to know?! Kevin Sharkey has an excellent selection of photos from the Soho store I recommend perusing....after you view the website of course!
