Can you believe a year has already passed? It seems like just yesterday we were waking up at 5:00 a.m. to watch the Royal Wedding. Since the big day, the Duchess of Cambridge has shown nothing but stellar sartorial choices, wooing us in everything from Alexander McQueen to L.K. Bennett. I absolutely love the clean color palette of this bedroom. It's designed by Allison Elebash, who's based out of St. Kitt's....doesn't that sound like a dream job? I think the orange, white, and natural scheme would work just as easily in St. Kitt's as it would in a guest bedroom stateside. It's so clean and colorful...who wouldn't want to wake up in a room like that?!

I first spied Dutch artist Kees Goudzwaard on Pinterest (where I seem to learn about most of my latest discoveries these days, don't you?) and was in love from the start. His oil paintings have the appearance of layers of taped pieces of paper, but are in fact smooth. For each painting, Kees spends weeks, sometimes months, on a prototype, making a model out of paper, tape, and transparent foil. The simplicity of the shapes and colors are what appeals to me...let's just say I definitely wouldn't mind owning one of my own someday. :)

Yesterday I experienced the ultimate of pinch-me moments when I turned to page 20 of one of my favorite magazines and saw a spread selected by none other than moi. I've been following editors Katie Armour and Jane Lilly Warren at their respective blogs for years, and have read (and reread...) every single Matchbook issue with excitement and delight. Katie and Jane have a way of writing about your favorite icons, designers, and need-to-know about products and launches that makes it feel like it's coming from your best girlfriend. To say I'm a huge fan is an understatement. :)
